Morning all,

A couple of things are moving forward and it is update time. First up is the CR 102 for Willapa commercial fisheries was filed yesterday. It is the CR 102 that legally creates the WAC ( rules if you like ) for the commercial fisheries and as we get a complete read on what is what updates will be put out.  Things to like in it and some things I think many will not like so here is your starting point.

Brother Tim wanted me to get out the information on oil being shipped by rail through the Chehalis Basin. It is a big deal folks so let me join Tim, Art, & Ron and urge you to comment on the issue what ever your views.

As most are aware, the Port of Grays Harbor is trying to get permits for two crude oil train terminals near the mouth of the Chehalis. Crude would come in by rail and loaded on ships and barges for export.  Then even more highly flamable and toxic gasoline, diesel, and naphtha would come in by ship out by rail.

Three train accidents have occured in Grays Harbor this month alone and fortunately the freight spilled was grain and other non-hazardous cargoes.  Many believe a major spill and disaster to the river, bay, or any of the residents living along the track from Centralia to Hoquaim is inevitable if the permits are approved. Others believe the oil companies, Port officals and railroad can get it done safely.

If you want to comment on the proposals, it is very easy to do using the website set up for public comments at https://public.commentworks.com/cwx/westwayimperiumcommentform/

Have to get it done quickly.  May 27th is the deadline for comments.
