CHEHALIS OPENING DAY SALMON UPDATE
Below is a update for the opening day of fishing in the lower Chehalis for today. I will be posting in Dave's Rants a update fairly often as the season develops so everyone will have an idea what is moving. Now ain't no way no how I will tell you where to go fish as that is the big " NO NO " but at least you will have an idea whats up. If you have a report you would like me to put up just send it to me at my email address and I will put it up.
Anyways tight lines and we are off:
That time again so I thought I would get the annual " liars report " going. So what I saw today for middle reach above Cosi to Friends Landing. Jacks both Chinook & Coho are around but not as many as a couple of days ago. To be honest there appears to be more Chinook hanging out than Coho but the three that we released were all colored and had been in the river for bit. Some Coho were caught but not in huge numbers up and down the river. So the rule is hunt them down but if you find a bunch coming with the tide once they get past don't wait for more but get upstream and get in front of them again as the new arrivals are coming in spurts on the incoming tide.
The water temp was 65 to 66.4 with a short spike above that on the tide change to incoming.
I urge all who visit D's Rants to do the contact bit and I will add your name to the contact list so whenever we have something interesting posted you can be notified.
